Auto-recharge keeps your wallet funded without manual intervention. When your balance crosses below the threshold you set, we charge a saved card and add the funds to your prepaid Top-Up Bucket.
Before you start
Section titled “Before you start”You need:
- At least one saved card. Add one from Payment methods before turning auto-recharge on.
Auto-recharge does not require a subscription — prepaid funds are spendable on their own. (If your wallet is frozen after a subscription cancellation, re-subscribe first; auto-recharge tops up a frozen wallet but the funds stay frozen until you re-subscribe.)
Turn on auto-recharge
Section titled “Turn on auto-recharge”Open Billing in the console. The auto-recharge form sits below the wallet summary. Toggle it on, set the threshold and recharge amount, pick the card to charge, and save.
Choose the threshold and amount
Section titled “Choose the threshold and amount”Two dollar amounts control the behavior:
- Threshold — the wallet balance, in dollars, at or below which a recharge fires. Set this high enough that a recharge has time to land before you run out. The default low-water mark is $10, so a recharge fires before the balance reaches zero.
- Recharge amount — how many US dollars to add each time. Auto-recharge funds 1:1 at the base rate — the preset checkout discounts are a manual-top-up lever only.
Pick a payment method
Section titled “Pick a payment method”Auto-recharge charges the card you select on the form automatically. Keep the card up to date: an expired or invalid card will fail the recharge and we’ll email you. After five consecutive failed charges, auto-recharge automatically disables itself to limit declines on a problematic card. Re-enable it once you’ve fixed the payment method.
How a recharge is triggered
Section titled “How a recharge is triggered”Recharges are triggered by a balance check that runs after each wallet debit. When your post-debit balance is at or below the threshold and no other recharge is in flight, the payment processor charges your card. On success, the funds land in your Top-Up Bucket as a grant_created transaction, exactly like a top-up, at the base rate (no discount).
If 3D Secure (SCA) is required, you’ll get an email with a recovery link that opens the pending recharges page to finish authentication.
Pause or turn off auto-recharge
Section titled “Pause or turn off auto-recharge”Toggle auto-recharge off on the same form. Pending recharges already in flight will still complete. To stop a single recharge that’s mid-flight, you can’t — wait for it to finalize or fail, then disable the form.

- Auto-recharge disabled itself — too many consecutive failures. Update the card on Payment methods and re-enable.
- My card was charged twice — auto-recharge is deduped per balance dip; a true double-charge is rare. File a refund request and we’ll reconcile.
